Accrued Revenue - How to Create via Batch Method

This method is used where you simply wish to create Accrued Revenue transactions by direct data entry, nominating the Job, Task Type and revenue amounts that are to be accrued

Steps:

  • Go to Accounting / General Ledger / Revenue Tools/ Accrued Revenue/ New Accrued Revenue
  • ​By Default the ADD INVOICE button will be checked 
  • Check the button ADD BATCH
  • Enter or select the OFFICE from the drop down menu
  • The date of the Revenue Deferral will default to today's date, which you can change if necessary
  • If required you can change the ACCOUNTING YEAR and or ACCOUNTING MONTH
  • Click NEXT
  • On the next page enter the following information for each transaction to be created – note that at the end of this process, a single ‘Accrued Revenue’ header transaction will be created for each job that you enter on this page.
  • For example if you add 3 lines with the same Job No – the system will create one ‘header’ Deferred Revenue transaction for that Job, and 3 detail lines will be assigned to that header.

  • Enter or select the JOB NO that is to have revenue deferred
  • Enter or select the TASK TYPE CODE the deferral relates to
  • Select the CHARGE TYPE (TIME if you are deferring time based revenue, INTERNAL if you are deferring internal charge based revenue, SUPPLIER if you are deferring revenue related to mark-ups on supplier charges)
  • Enter the amounts of revenue to be accrued
  • If you need to enter more than the default available 5 lines, just click MORE LINES to get another 5 blank lines.
  • Once you have confirmed that the amount of revenue to be accrued is correct, click the SAVE & CLOSE button – you will be returned to the Accrued Revenue browse page.
