How to create a department

The department structure in an organization varies depending on its size and the type of service it provides. Smaller organizations may only have a few departments, while larger companies may have many.

Steps:

  1. Navigate to Master Files > Employees.
  2. Click Departments.                                                                
  3. Click CREATE A NEW DEPARTMENT.                      
  4. Enter the following information

                                                                                                           

    Category  Description 
    Department Code  Enter a department code. The department code is a short and easily recognizable identifier for each department, making it easier to quickly identify different departments.
    Department Name Enter a department name. A business name is a group or business unit within the agency that is responsible for handling specific tasks.
    Header Department  Enter or select a header department. The parent department is used for organizational efficiency. It allows for easier management and coordination of the different departments that share common activities. - Optional
  5. Click SAVE or SAVE & CLOSE.
