How to create a custom code list
Import multiple custom codes via the import functionality or create a single custom code.
Steps:
- Navigate to SET UP FILES > Custom Codes > Custom Code Lists. Alternatively, you can also access Custom Code Lists directly from the Custom Code Labels page.
- There are two (2) ways to create a custom code label list.
a. Import method

Click Import.

Download the template.

The Excel file includes the following fields.
Field Name Description Transaction Type Enter one of the following:
- Clients
- Employees
- Suppliers
- General Ledger Accounts
- Offices
- Job Types
- Jobs
- Purchase Orders
- Prospects
- Task Types
- Credit Card Holders
- Credit Card Merchants
- Manage Inventory
Custom Code Label Enter a valid Custom Code Label. Code Enter a code or a short name for the custom code label value. Name This is optional.
Enter a descriptive value if using a code in the previous field.
Default Set this to Yes for a code that you would like to set as the Default. Otherwise, set the line to No. Active All new values will be set to Yes by default, Set this to No if you want to import a value, but do not want it available for selection at this time.

To import a completed file, click Import and click on Select File.

The new custom code label values will be listed on the screen if the import is successful. Otherwise, the system will generate an on-screen error report that can be imported into Excel.
b. One-at-a-time

Click CREATE A NEW CUSTOM CODE LIST ENTRY.

Select a TRANSACTION TYPE.

Select a CUSTOM CODE LABEL.

Enter a CODE or a short name for the custom code label value.

Enter a NAME (optional).
-
Check the DEFAULT? box if you want all records to default to this code.

Click SAVE or SAVE & CLOSE.
