How to update Billings on the Cash Flow Budget

Defining Billings on a Cash Flow Budget

Tailored to empower agencies, the Cash Flow Budget provides a dynamic snapshot of your financial health by meticulously tracking inflows and outflows of cash over a specified period. At its core, the Billings line represents the projected inflow of cash based on future invoices, serving as a crucial predictor within this framework. It is populated through three versatile avenues: Client Budgets, Manual Billings line entry, or an Import Template. This adaptable approach ensures accuracy and flexibility, laying the groundwork for seamless financial management.

Update Billings via Client Budgets

Navigate to the Billings line of the Cash Flow Budget, click on the Billings link then click on the Update From Client Budgets button. Select from the following fields:

 

Budget Year Select the specific budget year for Cash Flow Budget to be updated from
Budget Version Select the specific budget version for Cash Flow Budget to be updated from
From Month Select the starting accounting month to update
To Month Select a specific accounting month to limit the update 
Default Day for Month of Billing Define a specific date of billing. This is useful when viewing the Cash Flow Budget in weekly or daily view.
Billing Payment Terms Calculation Method

Select one of two available options:

  • Use Client Payment Terms - applies the payment terms on client record to calculate date for expected cash inflow
  • Use Average Number of Calendar Days from Billing Date
Create Purchases Budgets Check box if the system should automatically create Purchases budgets from the Client Budgets.
Average No. of Days From Billing Date Applicable only if Create Purchases Budgets is checked. The system will calculate the date for expected cash outflow for Purchases based on the number of days here from the billing date.
