How to create a job using the import function
Learn the steps required in creating a single job or bulk entry via import.
Creating a job using the import function enhances efficiency, accuracy, data integration, flexibility, and familiarity, making it a valuable and practical approach to managing job data.
Single job import
Steps:
- Navigate to JOBS > Jobs.
- Click Excel, located at the top of the page.
- Select IMPORT.
- Click Download template.
- Enter the following information starting on line 4 of the Excel sheet. Fields that have the asterisks are required and must be filled out.
Field Description Job No. Based on your agency's workflow, enter a job number or leave it blank and allow the system to generate a job number. Job Description Enter a job description. Client Code Enter a client code. Office Code Enter an office code. Currency Code Enter a currency code. Job Type Enter a job type. Billable? Enter yes or no. Date Opened Enter the date that the job was opened. - Save the file onto your computer.
- Navigate back to the Search Jobs page.
- Click Excel.
- Click Import once again.
- Click SELECT FILE and upload the saved file.
Batch import
Steps:
- Follow steps 1-5 from above.
- Enter the following information.
Field Description Job No. Based on your agency's workflow, enter a job number or leave it blank and allow the system to generate a job number. Job Description Enter a job description - multiple/different job descriptions can be entered and imported. Client Code Enter a client code - multiple/different client codes can be entered and imported. Office Code Enter an office code - multiple/different office codes can be entered and imported. Currency Code Enter a currency code - multiple/different currency codes can be entered and imported. Job Type Enter a job type - multiple/different job types can be entered and imported. Billable? Enter yes or no. Date Opened Enter the date that the job was opened. - Save the file onto your computer.
- Navigate back to the Search Jobs page.
- Click Excel.
- Click Import once again.
- Click SELECT FILE and upload the saved file.
- If the import file has been created correctly, the search jobs screen will populate the details from the imported file
- If the file contains any errors, the system will bring up a screen detailing the specific errors, which will need to be corrected before you can import it again
