How to create Inventory types

Inventory Types categorize and manage stock, grouping similar items for easier management and location within a business's inventory system.

Browsing a Inventory Type

Steps:

  1. Navigate to Manage > Inventories.

  2. Click on the hyperlink Inventory Types.
  3. Review Existing Types:

    • The main screen will display a list of all current inventory types, such as Office Supplies or Cleaning Supplies.
  4. Using Filters:

    • Apply filters if you need to find a specific type of inventory. The filters will help narrow down your search.

Creating a New Inventory Type

On the Inventory Types browse page, do the following.

Steps:

  1. Click on CREATE A NEW INVENTORY TYPE button to start defining a new category.

  2. Fill in the INVENTORY TYPE NAME field with a descriptive name for the new inventory category.

  3. Save the New Type:

    • Click 'SAVE' to add the new inventory type to the system.
    • Alternatively, click 'SAVE & CLOSE' to save and return to the main Inventory Types list.
  4. Post-Creation:

    • Once created, the new inventory type will appear in the list on the main Inventory Types screen.
    • You can create additional types by clicking CREATE ANOTHER INVENTORY TYPE.
