How to Create Inventory Types and Filters

This guide explains how Inventory Types categorize similar stock items for easier management.

Step by Step Guide:

    Browsing a Inventory Type

    1. Navigate to Manage > Inventories.

    2. Click on the hyperlink Inventory Types.

    3. Click on the hyperlink "Inventory Types"

    Review Existing Types:
    • The main screen will display a list of all current inventory types, such as Office Supplies or Cleaning Supplies.

    4. Using Filters:

    Apply filters if you need to find a specific type of inventory. The filters will help narrow down your search.

    Creating a New Inventory Type

    5. On the Inventory Types browse page, do the following:

    1. Click on NEW INVENTORY TYPE button to start defining a new category.

    6. Fill in the INVENTORY TYPE NAME field with a descriptive name for the new inventory category.

    7. Save the New Type:

    • Click 'SAVE' to add the new inventory type to the system.
    • Alternatively, click 'SAVE & CLOSE' to save and return to the main Inventory Types list.

    8. Post-Creation:

    • Once created, the new inventory type will appear in the list on the main Inventory Types screen.
    • You can create additional types by clicking CREATE ANOTHER INVENTORY TYPE.
