Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) Authentication for Counta AI Connector Overview

Agencies using Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) Single Sign-On (SSO) for Counta web and mobile applications can also enable SSO authentication for the Counta AI Connector. 👉 Learn more about Counta AI Connector

Enabling Microsoft Entra SSO for Counta AI Connector

Step 1: Register an Application in Microsoft Entra ID

    1. Log in to the Azure Portal.
    2. Navigate to Microsoft Entra ID > App Registrations.
    3. Click New Registration.

Step 2: Configure the Application

Configure the following settings:

    • Application Name: Enter a descriptive name such as:
      Counta IdentityServer 

      (The name can be customized as desired.)

    • Supported Account Types: Select:
      Accounts in this organizational directory only 
    • Redirect URI Configuration:
      • Platform: Web
    • Redirect URI:
      https://auth.counta.com/callback/oidc/{alias} 

Example: https://auth.counta.com/callback/oidc/PEAD

Replace {alias} with your agency's Counta tenant alias.

Step 3: Create a Client Secret

    1. Open the newly registered application.
    2. Navigate to:
      Certificates & Secrets 
    3. Select New Client Secret.
    4. Copy and securely store the generated secret value.

Note: The client secret value is only displayed once and cannot be retrieved after leaving the page.

Step 4: Collect Required Information

Provide the following information to the Counta Support team:

    • Application (Client) ID
    • Directory (Tenant) ID
    • Client Secret

You can find the Client ID and Tenant ID on the application's Overview page.

Step 5: Counta Configuration

Create a support ticket with the subject:

Include the following information:

    • Application (Client) ID
    • Directory (Tenant) ID
    • Client Secret
    • Tenant Alias

The Counta team will update the tenant configuration in the Identity Server and enable Microsoft SSO authentication for the AI Connector.

Step 6: Confirmation

Once the configuration has been completed, Counta Support will confirm through the support ticket when Microsoft SSO authentication is available for your Counta AI Connector users.

Do users need a Counta API token when using Microsoft SSO?

No. Once Microsoft Entra SSO has been configured for the Counta AI Connector, users authenticate using their Microsoft SSO credentials.

Are changes required to our Microsoft Entra configuration?

Only the application registration, redirect URI configuration, and client secret creation described above are required.

What Redirect URI should be used?

Use: https://auth.counta.com/callback/oidc/{alias}
