Revenue Recognition, Expense Budgets, and GL Transaction Search enhancements
Revenue Recognition: Previously Accrued and Previously Deferred amounts are now on separate columns
What is it?
We’ve updated the Revenue Recognition page to display Previously Accrued and Previously Deferred as separate fields.
Why does it matter?
When these amounts were previously combined, equal values would net to zero, preventing proper reversal of either amount. This change ensures accurate tracking and reversal of both balances.
How does it work?
There's no additional set up required. Navigate to Accounting>Revenue Tools>Revenue Recognition and you'll see that each category now appears in its own column, allowing the system to handle accrued and deferred amounts independently, even when the values are the same.
Expense Budgets: Customize Layout & Job Description Column
What is it?
You can now customize the layout of the Expense Budgets page and—if you budget by Job—see a dedicated Job Description column. This enhancement gives every agency the ability to tailor the view to their budgeting approach, whether you budget by Job, by Department, or both.
Why does it matter?
This is a game changer for agencies budgeting at the Job level, making it easier to review and update granular budgets without clutter from unused columns. The new Job Description column eliminates the need to hover over Job Numbers to see the full job name, speeding up budget reviews. For agencies budgeting by Department (and not by Job), the ability to hide Job columns keeps the layout clean and focused—helping you work faster without distractions.
How does it work?
-
Navigate to Accounting > Budgets >Expense Budgets
-
Use the new Layout option to hide the Job or Department columns depending on how you budget.
-
If you budget at the Job level, a new Job Description column appears alongside the Job Number for full visibility.
-
The Account Number, Months, and Total remain fixed in the layout and cannot be hidden.
General Ledger Transaction Search: New Job Description & Description Filters
What is it?
The General Ledger Transaction Search now includes new Journal Description and Description filters. The Layout view has also been updated with the Journal Description column.
Why does it matter?
These enhancements make it easier to locate and analyze journal entries using more contextual details. For example, agencies with historical journal imports that contain client or vendor names in the description can now quickly filter by these keywords to dissect and review transactions.

How does it work?
-
Navigate to Accounting > General Ledger Transaction Search.
-
Use the new Description filter to search for journal entry descriptions or the Journal Description filter to search for journal header descriptions
-
Add Journal Description to your layout to see this information directly on the grid.
