Approval Process Enhancements for UAG & Department Head

New UAG Approver Types

We’ve refined how User Access Group (UAG) approvals work by introducing two distinct types:

  • UAG - Shared Office: Approvers are determined based on the offices they have access to, rather than just their assigned office.
  • UAG - Transaction Office: Approvers are assigned based on the transaction’s related office, ensuring approvals align with shared service models.

This change prevents approvals from being bypassed due to office mismatches, providing more flexibility in sequential approval workflows.

New Department Head - Shared Office

The Department Head approval type now has a shared service option:

  • Department Head - Shared Office: Allows department heads with office access to approve transactions beyond their default office.

For example, if a department head in AMS has access to NY, they can now approve transactions related to NY. This ensures department leadership is involved in approvals across multiple offices when necessary.

Client Profitability Summary Added to Reports

New Client Profitability Summary Page

A new Client Profitability Summary page is now available under Accounting > General Ledger > General Ledger Statements and Reports > Client Profitability Summary.

  • Summary & Detail Views: The page includes a summary view with drill-down functionality to a detailed view for deeper insights.
  • Filters Aligned with Existing Reports: Users can filter by Office, Entity, Client, and Department, with a GL Account filter also added.
  • Totals Row: A totals row has been added for better visibility of overall financial performance.
  • Sorting Enhancements: Data now sorts by Client Name (or Office + Client Name if "Separate Report for Each Office" is checked).
  • Client Labeling Fix: Blank client rows now display "No Client Assigned" for consistency with reports.

New Data Retrieval Method

Due to the complexity of calculations, real-time data refresh has been removed. Instead, users must click the "Get Data" button to retrieve the latest data.

These updates improve financial reporting efficiency and provide deeper client profitability insights.

Read-Only Users Can Now Access Setup Options Page

We’ve resolved an issue where read-only users were unable to access the Setup Options page. Previously, an error message prevented these users from viewing the page.

Highlights:

  • Read-only users can now access the Setup Options page as expected.
  • No restrictions on viewing configuration settings for users with appropriate permissions.

This update ensures that all users with read-only access can navigate the Setup Options page without errors.
